The Civic Coding initiative

Acting across ministries

Civic Coding – Innovation Network AI for the Common Good” is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS), the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV).

In our innovation network, we are crossing ministerial boundaries and responsibilities. We want to create structures that promote the emergence of social innovations from within society and the social adaptation of AI on a widespread basis.

The Civic Coding community offers a virtual space for your projects and profiles

In the Civic Coding community, registered users can find information on existing projects and content as well as profiles of other registered users. You have various opportunities to network with each other and jointly come up with ideas for AI applications for the common good.

In the community, you can find like-minded people. Our matching feature helps you network and develop your ideas with other members of the community.

  • Projects

As a registered user, you can post and publish your ideas for AI applications for the common good in the community and enhance them with others. The matching feature of the platform will help you do so.

With the Civic Coding initiative, we are joining forces across ministries, connecting our infrastructures, linking our communities and bringing together projects. This way, we create a vibrant network for AI for the common good in Germany across all sectors.
